Horse Boarding
New Barn: Cost: $400.00/month
This cost includes a 10’ x 12’ box stall, tack box, hay, grain, and pasture turnout (weather permitting) as well as access to all listed facilities. All pastures and stalls have heated, electric waterers. We currently have 80 acres of pasture divided into 8 pastures for turn out. Pastures are fertilized and rotated to provide grass for horses April through December.
This price does not include wormer, vaccinations, farrier care or any needed veterinary services. We will gladly schedule these services for you at an additional cost. All horses are required to be vaccinated and wormed regularly.
Horse Leasing
Horse Leasing Ages 11 and up Cost: $400.00/month.
Clients have access to indoor & outdoor facilities as well as pasture. There are also additional charges for farrier fees, worming fees, hauling to clinics and horse shows.
Leasing Criteria
Once a rider reaches a certain level of competence, they then become eligible to lease a horse from The Woods. The majority of our leasing clients have been with us for at least one year participating in lessons. Before you may lease, your skills and ability must be evaluated and approved by your riding instructor.
Once approved, these children will be paired with one horse and can then participate in the 4-H program. These children can attend open shows with a group from The Woods throughout the summer. When leasing, you will be able to ride your horse up to an hour each day with other lease and board students. You may ride anytime that your horse is not being used for camps or lessons. We provide all of the tack for your horse.
Leasing is a great opportunity for families to “try out” horse ownership. It allows you to see if competition is something your child enjoys and will give you a better idea as to what kind of horse you might eventually buy.
